Goncourt Prize for Poetry Awarded to René Depestre As part of the Spring Goncourt Prizes, the Goncourt Academy has just awarded the Robert Sabatier Goncourt Prize for Poetry to the poet René Depestre for his entire body of work. His work, which began in 1945 with "Étincelles", comprises some thirty collections, nearly a thousand poems. This new distinction testifies to the influence of Depestre's writings in the Francophone and international literary sphere. Congratulations to our centenarian writer, who excels in poetry, short stories, and essays. 30,000 Members per Party : A Technical, Not Political, Decision The Provisional Electoral Council's (CEP) decision to require a minimum of 30,000 members per political party for candidate registration in the upcoming elections (https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-47443-haiti-flash-draft-electoral-decree-revised-significant-changes.html) is a strictly technical consideration and not political. This was affirmed by Jacques Desrosiers, President of the CEP, who specified that this measure is part of an effort to guarantee the feasibility of the election. According to him, this measure does not reflect any intention to strengthen or weaken political parties, but rather responds to organizational and efficiency imperatives.
