The PM in Rome is launching a new dynamic of cooperation for the recovery of Haiti

On Friday, May 8, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé chaired a working meeting in Rome with representatives of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and several international partners to discuss national priorities in rural development, security, governance, and economic recovery.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Haitian government's commitment to increasing investment in rural areas to support national production, create jobs, and strengthen the country's food sovereignty. He emphasized the strategic importance of reopening major roads to ensure producers' access to markets and promote the resumption of economic activity.

Discussions also focused on the need to maintain a strong institutional presence in Port-au-Prince while continuing development projects in the country's departments.

The Prime Minister also presented the reforms undertaken in the areas of justice and the fight against impunity, including the upcoming establishment of specialized judicial mechanisms to address financial crimes and mass atrocities.

International partners welcomed the guidelines set by the Haitian authorities and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting national priorities in the areas of rural development, environmental resilience, and productive investment.
