MSF specified that it had taken in some patients transferred from Fontaine, including pregnant women who had given birth overnight. “Currently, no hospitals are open in the fighting zone," the organization said in a statement, adding that despite the exponential increase in local medical needs, the NGO could not protect its staff or patients from the gunfire.

MSF reported having taken in more than 800 refugees, but faced with the worsening situation, it decided to temporarily suspend hospital operations until further notice, as the clashes endangered its staff and patients. The fighting has continued since Sunday morning between members of the "Chen Mechen" gang and affiliates, as well as other gangs that were, until recently, its allies.
