Haiti - U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 : Our Grenadiers know their opponents

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) held the draw for the final phase of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Men's World Cup in Zurich, Switzerland. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 19 to December 13, 2026.

For its fourth appearance at a FIFA World Cup in this age category, Haiti, in Group D, will face France, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay.

Haitian national team coach Kowsky Sainvil, former coach of the Haitian U-20 national team in 2016, who has been with FC Laval (Quebec, Canada) since 2024 (https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-46630-icihaiti-u-17-world-cup-qualifiers-kovsky-saint-vil-appointed-as-coach.html), expressed his satisfaction with the draw. He remains convinced that with a solid preparation program, the team can cause an upset, qualify for the second round, and even go further in the competition.

The matches will be played on eight pitches within the state-of-the-art Aspire Zone complex in Al Rayyan (Doha), culminating in the final at Khalifa International Stadium.

The 48 qualified nations are divided into 12 groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, advance to the round of 32. From this stage onward, the remainder of the competition will be played in a traditional knockout format.
