Bloodbath in Kenskoff

On Wednesday, July 8, around 2:00 a.m., heavily armed men from the "Viv ansanm" terrorist coalition attacked the village of Robin in the Grand Fond communal section. There are numerous deaths, injuries, kidnappings, and houses burned down. No official statement has yet been released by the mayor's office.

Prime Minister's Report at the 51st CARICOM Meeting

On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, upon returning from the 51st Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of CARICOM in Saint Lucia (July 6-8, 2026), Prime Minister Fils-Aimé presented the main outcomes of his mission at a press conference held in the diplomatic lounge of Toussaint Louverture International Airport. He discussed new prospects for cooperation with Romania and South Korea in the areas of security, training, trade, and health. He announced a donation of 500 tons of rice promised by the President of Guyana to support the Government's efforts in combating food insecurity. Finally, he confirmed the visit of a high-level CARICOM delegation to Haiti at the end of July.

Donation of over USD 7 Million to the GSF

The United Kingdom is donating £5.6 million (approximately US$7.4 million) to support the Force for the Repression of Gangs (FRG), which is currently being deployed in Haiti. This UK donation follows the announcement a few days earlier of a US$35.3 million donation from Canada to Haiti, also intended to support the FRG in its fight against armed groups.

Putting Haiti on the Global Technological Stage

As part of ongoing efforts to position Haiti on the global technological stage, a Haitian delegation led by engineer Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, Minister of Public Works and Communications, accompanied by the Director General of the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL), is currently on a mission in Geneva, Switzerland.

18 students graduated in orthotics and prosthetics

On the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of Saint-Antoine Hospital in Jérémie, a thanksgiving mass was celebrated on the 7th July 2026, followed by a graduation ceremony for 18 students who successfully completed the 6-month orthotics and prosthetics training program at the institution's Orthotics and Prosthetics Center (manufacturing prostheses for upper and lower limbs, as well as other orthopedic devices).
