Security Council, Haiti on the Agenda

The United Nations Security Council is due to meet this Monday, July 20 in New York to examine the situation in Haiti, marked by continued violence by armed gangs and the weakening of state institutions. Council members will hear briefings from the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH), the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). They are also expected to discuss the renewal of the FRG mandate, which expires in September 2026, as well as the evolving security situation, humanitarian needs and political prospects in Haiti.

The players immediately started training with great concentration and determination. Source tax adjustment postponed to October

The Ministry of the Economy and Finance is postponing until October 1, 2026 the entry into force of the withholding tax of 15%, compared to 10% previously, applicable in particular to bonuses, fixed costs, allowances, gifts, compensation for untaken leave and overtime. In an administrative notice dated July 14, the ministry explains that this postponement should make it possible to finalize technical adjustments relating to the progressive scale of personal income tax and the tax treatment of salary and similar remuneration.

Saturday July 18, 2026 at Parc Sainte-Thérèse in Pétion-ville, the Ministry of Youth and Sports in partnership with Viva Rio and several national and international institutions, closed the first edition of Ti Mondyal 202. The U-12 grand final, contested between the team representing Tunisia (Becky Dewine School of Brooklyn) and that representing Saudi Arabia (École Nationale de Coraïl), ended in a victory for Tunisia with a score of [2-0]. The prize giving ceremony was one of the highlights of this grand final. The team representing Tunisia received a check for 650,000 gourdes, offered by Swiss Cooperation and the team representing Saudi Arabia a check for 500,000 gourdes.

FAO : Emergency food production campaign

With the Fund from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is launching its emergency food production campaign. 65,000 people will be able to regain access to food in less than 90 days, via a first cycle of distribution of food seeds, essential to saving lives.
