At least ten motorcycle taxi drivers killed "Criminal gangs killed at least ten motorcycle taxi drivers in the town of Gressier on Friday, July 31, 2026. These drivers were traveling the route between the crossroads and Léogâne, passing through Degan. Great North : Sports Infrastructure Assessment On Sunday, August 2, 2026, Pythagore Dumas, the Minister of Youth and Sports, led a delegation on an official tour of the Northern Region. The objectives of the tour were to: visit the region's sports infrastructure as part of the national effort to revitalize sports activities; plan the official launch of the summer championships; and encourage young people to actively participate in the upcoming elections scheduled for the end of the year. During the first day of the tour, the delegation inspected Saint-Victor Park in Cap-Haïtien, revealing major problems with the locker rooms, lighting, bleachers, VIP stands, and the required sterile zone surrounding the park.
