Haiti - Call for Expressions of Interest : Project to support entrepreneurial invention and startups

As part of his responsibilities for promoting trade, industry, and entrepreneurship, James Monazard, Minister of Commerce and Industry (MCI), is implementing the Project to Support Entrepreneurial Invention and University Startups (AIESU).

This project aims to strengthen the university entrepreneurial ecosystem in Haiti through the gradual establishment of a network of university incubators. The pilot phase is being rolled out at Quisqueya University. This Call for Expressions of Interest is part of this initial phase.

Objective of the Call for Expressions of Interest :

To identify and select eight innovative startups that will join the first cohort of the AIESU University Incubation Program and benefit from six months of structured support.

Eligible Beneficiaries :

Students, recent graduates, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams from recognized higher education institutions in Haiti.

• Manufacturing Industries

• Green Economy

• Health

• Creative Industries

• Innovative Services

Selection Criteria :

• Innovation

• Market Relevance

• Technical, Legal, and Administrative Support

• Funding Preparation

• Referral to the FDI for High-Performing Projects

Selection Process :

Administrative Verification, Technical Evaluation, Presentation (Pitch), Deliberation of the committee and publication of the results.

Administrative review of applications received : August 17-25, 2026

Selection committee meeting : August 17-21, 2026

Technical evaluation of applications : August 26-September 10, 2026

Project presentations (Pitch) by shortlisted candidates : September 15-20, 2026

Final deliberation and validation of results : September 21-25, 2026

Publication of selection results : September 25-30, 2026

Official notification of selected startups : From September 30, 2026

Start of the AIESU University Incubation Program : October 1st, 2026
