Back to School, EduPOL Reinforces Security

As part of preparations for the start of the 2026-2027 academic year, the Haitian National Police (PNH), through its Community Educational Police (EduPOL), is implementing a series of measures to strengthen security in the school environment, particularly in the metropolitan area. These measures include a permanent police presence near all schools to better prevent incidents and intervene quickly when necessary.

Haiti Expresses Gratitude to Trump

The Government of Haiti welcomes the official signing of the resolution extending the HOPE/HELP programs until December 31, 2028. The Haitian Government expresses its deep gratitude to the President of the United States, Donald Trump, as well as to the American and Haitian authorities who contributed to this important decision, which demonstrates the United States' continued support for Haiti's economic development. This decision is excellent news for the Haitian economy, particularly for the textile sector and the thousands of workers and families who depend on it.

USA : New flight of deported Haitians

On Thursday, September 3rd, 2026, the U.S. government sent another plane carrying 78 deported Haitians to Haiti. This is the third flight since the end, in July, of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), which had suspended their deportation. The plane took off from Opa-Locka Executive Airport in South Florida at 11:00 a.m. local time (3:00 p.m. GMT), bound for Cap-Haïtien, Haiti's second-largest city, according to the humanitarian initiative ICE Flight Monitor, which tracks deportation flights.

FLASH : School Subsidy 2026-2027

As part of the implementation of the School Subsidy Program for the 2026-2027 academic year, the National Education Fund (FNE) informs parents and guardians of students in the North Department that a special application submission event will be held in Cap-Haitien on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the Félix Box National School, Rue 17 N-W, Cap-Haïtien. Parents and guardians are invited to come with a complete application, in accordance with FNE requirements. Documents required for application submission :

• A letter of application addressed to the Director General of the FNE, including two (2) contactable phone numbers ;

• Valid identification of the responsible person ;

• The child's most recent school report card ;

• The school fee receipt ;

• The name and valid telephone number of the school administrator;

• The child's birth certificate or an extract from the civil registry.

The National Education Fund (FNE) encourages parents and guardians to take advantage of this opportunity to submit their applications on time and comply with the established administrative requirements.

New ONI Digital Service

The National Identification Office (ONI) announces that, starting this Friday, September 4, 2026, a new digital service is available to allow citizens to check if their National Identification Card (CIN) is active in the institution's database. To perform this check, users should visit : https://delidoc.gouv.ht/verifierNINU and enter their Unique National Identification Number (NINU) in the designated field. When the National Identification Number (NINU) is recognized and active in the National Identification Office (ONI) system, the platform will display the cardholder's photograph and date of birth, allowing them to confirm their identity information. If the entered number is not recognized, a message will indicate that the corresponding card is not active in the ONI database or that the entered NINU does not exist.

The CCIO welcomes the renewal of HOPE/HELP

The West Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIO) welcomes the renewal of HOPE/HELP for two more years, a significant step forward for the future of the Haitian textile industry. With nearly 22,000 direct jobs and $590 million in textile and apparel exports to the United States projected for 2024, the sector remains a major driver of employment, investment, and national exports. We commend the mobilization of public and private stakeholders who contributed to this progress. These two years must now be used to consolidate the sector, attract new investments, strengthen our competitiveness, and create more jobs.
