Cap-Haitien : Diaspora Fair

Kathia Verdier, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, announces the first edition of the Diaspora Fair. It will be held on November 6 and 7, 2026, in the city of Cap-Haïtien, under the theme : "Together for Haiti". This event will offer members of the Haitian diaspora an opportunity to participate, showcase and exhibit their products and services, highlight their talents, share their experiences, and create new opportunities and partnerships.

Jacmel : Anthrax and Rabies

On Friday, September 11, 2026, a meeting was held at Jacmel City Hall regarding the risks associated with anthrax and rabies in the Southeast Department. Discussions focused on the current situation, available information, and measures taken by the relevant sectors—particularly Public Health and Agriculture. The meeting served to strengthen coordination among the various stakeholders and identify the actions needed to bolster prevention and protect the population in the Southeast Department.

Spanish investment opportunities in Haiti

On Friday, September 11, 2026, Haiti’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Wooldy Edson Louidor, held a working meeting with Ms. Marta Blanco, President of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE). The meeting aimed to explore investment opportunities for Spanish companies in Haiti and to identify prospects for closer ties between the Haitian and Spanish private sectors.

Visit to the GHESKIO Centers

Dr. Sinal Bertrand, Minister of Public Health, visited the GHESKIO Centers. During the visit, he met with the institution's leadership and toured several departments of the Institute of Infectious Diseases and Health (IMIS), including the laboratory, clinics, pediatrics, vaccination and nutrition services, the pharmacy, as well as research units and other specialized services. The Minister commended the remarkable work of Dr. Pape and the GHESKIO Centers' teams, acknowledging their commitment and the institution's major contribution to serving the Haitian population. The Minister noted that GHESKIO is a vital institution for the country, playing a key role in healthcare delivery, prevention, research, training, and innovation.
