Prime Minister's promise to CFEF and ENS students

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Vijonet Déméro, the Minister of National Education (MENFP), held an online meeting with a group of probationary students from the Training Center for Fundamental Education (CFEF) in Port-au-Prince and a group of trainees from the École Normale Supérieure (ENS).

This working session took place in the presence of Dr. Jean Ricot Docteur, the MENFP’s Director of Human Resources; Rousseau Dumond Larionne, the Ministry’s Administrator; Ernest Clergé, Coordinator of the Departmental Education Directorates Coordination Unit (UCDDE); and Jacques Ronald Jean, Administrative Director of the CFEF.

The meeting was part of the follow-up on payments for students who had already completed their internship and probationary periods and submitted the required reports but were still awaiting their checks. It provided an opportunity for the students to speak directly with Ministry officials regarding the status of their files and the next steps leading to payment.

During the discussion, Professor Vijonet Déméro reaffirmed his commitment and determination to honor the State's obligations toward the students from the CFEF and the ENS. He expressed his desire to see the process concluded as quickly as possible, reiterating the pledge he had made during his appearance on the Radio Caraïbes program "Premye Okazyon" on September 7, 2026.

For his part, Jean Ricot Docteur, the Director of Human Resources, confirmed that all necessary administrative documents had been signed as of September 4th, 2026. This step paves the way for finalizing the payment process. He indicated that the students in question should be able to collect their checks during the week, in accordance with the directives issued by the Minister. For his part, Rousseau Dumond Larionne, the Ministry’s Administrator, pledged to do everything within his power—in collaboration with Jean Ricot—to expedite the final administrative steps. He placed particular emphasis on the need to ensure that probationary CFEF students who have successfully completed their year of practical training, as well as ENS interns who have already submitted their reports, receive their checks as soon as possible.

With this in mind, the administrator also announced that he would meet with the public accountant from the Ministry of Finance on Monday, September 14, 2026, to conduct the necessary follow-ups and help advance the payment process for the students in question.

This meeting is a positive sign for the students involved, who are hopefully awaiting the conclusion of this process after completing their probationary year.
