Me Thierry Mayard-Paul, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and National Defense, and the members of his cabinet wish a happy carnival to the entire Haitian population, particularly to the festival goers and also take this opportunity to invite all participants in this great cultural event to prudence and to the observance to all measures taken by the competent authorities to ensure their safety during the course of the festivities.

Moreover, the Minister presents his thanks to all sectors of national life that have supported the successful realization of this first in the history of Haitian carnival. He also sends his greetings to the people of Les Cayes for the dedication and commitment demonstrated face to the various activities held during the three fat days.
