The Town of Longueuil received this week at the town hall, a dozen delegates from Haiti came to discuss on the governance principles and the processes of the municipal administration of Longueuil. The delegates present at the meeting were from various municipal authorities of Haiti.

Elected officials and senior officials of the City of Longueuil have shared their experiences of the municipal administration and discussed several topics, like the dynamic of functioning between the administrative and policy, the role of Director General and taxation.

"It is a pleasure for our administration to be able to talk with Haitian officials on fundamental principles that guide the management of our city, such as ethics, integrity, the approach of services to citizens, and the importance of tax and assessment process. We all come out stronger from this exchange, both on the cultural and human plan," declared Caroline St-Hilaire, the Mayor of Longueuil.

Recall that the PCM Haiti-Canada is intended to restore the institutional capacity and administrative base of the City of Port-au-Prince and of and municipalities of Gressier, Léogâne, Petit Goâve and Grand Goâve forming region of the Palmes.
