This Monday, June 18, 2012 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, at the Karibe Convention Center, the National Telecommunications Council (CONATEL) is organizing a "Workshop Territorial Collectivities' of presentation and of exchange with the mayors, on the needs and opportunities of Territorial Collectivities on the Technologies of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as part of the development of the draft law on electronic communications "ICT: A vehicle of growth towards 2030."

Jean-Marie Guillaume, Director General of CONATEL and the engineer Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications, will proceed with the opening of the workshop.

Many topics and concepts will be presented at this workshop: ICT, Telecommunications and Territorial Collectivities : opportunities and challenges; Concept of Broadband and dorsal ; Concept of legal and regulatory framework in ICT and telecommunications ; Universal Service, Digital Planning of territory and digital economy in Territorial Collectivities ; Case study : simulation of master plans followed by thematic workshops of enrichment, of the draft law, before the presentation of workshop reports.

Me Thierry Mayard Paul, the Minister of Interior and Territorial Collectivities, will close the workshop.

Always at the Karibe Convention Center, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm, there will be a dinner presentation of the new agenda of CONATEL by Jean-Marie Guillaume, in order that the electronic communications sector play its full role in the economy and help achieve the vision of the Government to put Haiti in the ranks of emerging countries by 2030.
