The First Edition of the "Festival of the Sea", which runs from 13 to 15 July 2012 around of theme "Happiness on the water" will begin Thursday, July 12, with the Opening of the Exhibition of paintings of Groupe Loray to the French Alliance and the launch by the Regional Office North of Ministry of Tourism, of National Painting Contest on the theme "Life on the Haitian coast," in partnership with the French Alliance and the French Institute of Haiti [Regulations to be removed in the Offices of Tourism and the French Alliance].

The national contest will be held from July 13 to September 27, 2012 and will reward the winners :

1st Prize - Travel: Artist in residence in a French island in the Caribbean

2nd Prize - Laptop and 35.000 Gdes

3rd Prize - Painting Supplies and 25.000 Gdes

The works of the participants should be submitted in the French Alliances in Haiti (Cap-Haitien, Jacmel, Gonaives, Port de Paix, Jeremie, Les Cayes) and the French Institute of Port-au-Prince.

Launching of the festival of the sea on the boulevard of Cap-Haitien with the fireworks, Exhibition of paintings on the walls, culinary arts and many activities, among others : Coast Guard Parade, of of Bands, of Sailors, of dance troupes, march disguised as seafood, walking band and musical entertainment with the group Anbyans du Cap + DJ.

Saturday, July 14 :

In the village of Labadee

Musical entertainment with Djakout # 1 and the Orchestre Villageois of Labadee, bikini fashion show, kayak race, swimming race for the ladies, defile of sailing boat, loitering along the bay, hiking.

In Cap-Haitien

Painters will personalize t-shirts, bags, hats and even offer "body art". Initiations workshops, crafts exhibitions, lectures and live performances, will take place throughout the day. Seminar of swimming for children.
