Haiti - Diaspora : Opening Ceremony, TF1 provides explanations...

TF1 responds on its website, to the many criticisms made by the viewers (including Haiti) regarding the television broadcasting of the parade of delegations at the opening of the Olympic games in London. TF1 says not having gave more importance to a delegation than to another... Note that this is general explanations and not a response to the frustration of Haiti who is not even mentioned, while the Comoros are entitled to an apology...

Response of TF1 :

"Many of you have expressed to us various comments on the presentation of the opening ceremony of the London Olympics: too many comments from our reporters, possible absence of images and/or information about some delegations and the reference to Bob Denard in the parade of the Comoros.

Almost 5 hours of live, a parade of 205 delegations of athletes and officials, more than 10,000 participants, a scene depicting the history of England with many musical references, cultural blending reality and fiction... it goes without saying that commenting such an event is complex due to the different elements to cover instantly. On the other hand, in order to punctuate the parade, we chose to insert cutting plans of French athletes specially when Laura Flessel planted the tricolor at the foot of the hill for this purpose.

Finally, some of you have expressed their feelings about the reference to Bob Denard that was made during the parade of the delegation of the Comoros.

This comment had no negative will towards the presentation of the delegation of Comoros, but we nevertheless wish to apologize if this about affected you [...]"
