In a statement released Wednesday, signed by Dieuseul Desras Simon, President of the Senate, the office of the National Assembly, convenes the parliamentarians "The Office of the National Assembly of the Republic of Haiti presents its compliments to all senators and deputies of the 49th Legislature and informs them that they areconvened in National Assembly in accordance with the prescribed of Article 192 of the Constitution of 1987 amended, Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11 am." According to the statement, the purpose of this session is to find a formula in order to designate the 3 representatives of legislative power to the Permanent Electoral Council.

Levaillant Louis Jeune, President of the Lower House, support that this meetinh in National Assembly is necessary to know the position of parliamentarians adding "The only way to found that the Parliament is unable to appoint its representatives, is to convene the National Assembly," however, he believes that in the absence of 2/3 required for each room, deputies and senators could find a formula for the representation.

The Senator Moïse Jean-Charles, exclusively favorable to the Provisional Council, does not intend to respond to this convocation, saying "It should not take Senator Desras seriously." The Senator Westner Polycarpe as his colleague announces "If it is to discuss of the Presidential Electoral Council, I will not be there," other discordant voices were heard on the holding of this Assembly, which already promises to be turbulent and far from our national motto...

In addition, the President Michel Martelly, had, Wednesday evening at Karibe, fruitful discussions with thirty Deputies and Senators around the issue of the formation of the Permanent Electoral Council. It was a frank and open discussion patriotic between representatives of the Executive and the Legislature to find a consensus to complete the electoral institution, already operational and functional "We must work together," stressed the Head of State did not fail to remind to the parliamentarians, that time is no longer to talk nor to the tactics, but to ctions and concrete results for the benefit of the Haitian people.

After several hours of consultation, the members present at this meeting, opted in the collective interest, for an immediate end to the crisis and have shown favorable to the upcoming National Assembly after which, the Parliament could disclose the identity of three people who will represent the legislative body, to the Permanent Electoral Council. These parliamentarians are convinced that the formation of CEP is constitutional and institutional and are ready to play their part as members of one of the three branches of government.

The President Martelly, has reminded to all senators and deputies that there is urgency to move towards the improvement of living conditions the Haitian people and that this series of dialogues will continue between the Head of State and other actors of the national life.
