Haiti - Economy : Industrial Park of North, vocational training program

As part of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) and the Technical Execution Unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (UTE), more than 200 people are currently enrolled in a training program of short duration, focused on skills, related to employment and the perspectives of future development of the region of North and the Industrial Park of Caracol...

This training takes place in Trou du Nord for the initiation to the masonry linked according to seismic standards and to Fort-Liberté for Textile : Operation of industrial sewing machines, maintenance and repair. Note that the focus was put on the integration of women who represent more than 70% of the learners. Moreover, these women are excellent in the learning of these trades and are already carrying repairs of equipment on the site of Caracol.

In addition, a group of 26 people attend a practical program, of agribusiness on the processing of agricultural products, with the ultimate aim to empower them. Notions of leadership, entrepreneurship, and of legislation and behavior in enterprise complete the training of these beneficiaries.

The National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP), will certify officially in mid-September the first group and the program will continue with other groups.
