Haiti - Health : Japanese Donation of medical equipments

The Embassy of Japan in Haiti, has recently proceeded to the Inauguration ceremony of the "Project of Installation of Medical Equipmentsto the Haitian Community Hospital (HCH)". The ceremony was held in the new premises of the medical institution on the road of Frères in the presence of Ambassador Kenji Kuratomi, Chargé d'Affaires of Japan in Haiti, Dr. Marie-Claude François, Medical Director of the HCH, Alain Haspil Vice-President of the Haitian Foundation for Health and Education (FHASE) and Marie Belotte, Representative of the Ministry of Public Health and Population.

Under his project, Japan donated of medical equipments including a sophisticated endoscopic device to better meet the specific needs of the needy population and a large capacity autoclave, which can ensure the sterilization services of the hospital, for an amount of U.S. $ 91.626.

Basic medical care being at the forefront of Japan's objectives in Haiti, this project has been funded with the aim to support the Haitian Community Hospital in its mission to promote access to quality care at a lower cost to all strata of the population.

This funding is part of the program "of Assistance in donation to the Local Micro-Projects contributing to the Human Security" (APL) of the Japanese Government.
