Haiti - Economy : Fuel until 7 December...

Friday, Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, in order to ensure aregular supply of fuel for the month of December, met with representatives of petroleum companies.

During this meeting several points were discussed, such as the availability of storage of products in Thor and Varreux, the regular supply of gas stations during the Christmas season, the construction of terminals in the North.

According to the Bureau of Monetization of Development Aid Programs (BMPAD), 3 boats of fuel should deliver fuel at regular intervals before the end of December in order to meet the needs of the population during the peak period.

In addition, participants pointed out to the Minister Laleau, there were about 350,000 barrels of diesel and 43.500 barrels of gasoline available on the market. According to their analysis, these quantities are sufficient to supply gas stations until the arrival of the first cargo scheduled for December 7, deadline.

At the end of this important meeting. The Minister Laleau promised other ad hoc meetings, to help the Government to stem a possible crisis, that would result a rupture of fuel stocks.
