Haiti - Social : The question of the towing of vehicles before a Senate Committee

The Commissioner Will Dimanche, Director of Traffic service and Traffic Police responded Wednesday to a convening of the Senate Committee on Justice and Security. The Senator Steven Benoît was very critical of the procedures of towing of vehicles in the Downtown and to Petion-ville and questioned intensively the Commissioner Dimanche "What are the companies that are responsible for towing? Who are the owners of these firms? What is the exact price for towing a vehicle? How is divided the money ? Where go the money ? What says the Highway Code in this case ?", questioned Senator Benoît, very critical of how the tow is practiced both at Pétion-Ville and in the Downtown.

"Towing is a major weapon that can help us to solve the traffic problem," replied the Commissioner stating that the cost of towing was 3.500 gourds in Pétion-ville and 3,000 Gourdes in the Downtown of the capital.
