Ronsard Saint-Cyr, the Minister of the Interior and local authorities, announced that the Government had disbursed 200 million gourdes to facilitate the realization of social and cultural activities during the holiday season.

Thus, the Ministry of the Interior has a budget of 100 million gourdes, the Ministry of Social Affairs 20 million and the Metropolitan Service of Collection of Solid Waste (SMCRS) 60 million that will be used for remediation works (high intensity of labor).

We are trying to reach all regions and communities, said the Minister Saint. Cyr which stated that every Advisor to Communal Section Administrator (CASEC) will receive within the framework of this budget 50.000 Gourdes and each commune between 75.000 to 600.000 Gourdes, calculated based on their demographic

The Minister promises that these funds will be administered by the Deputies, Vice Delegates, Mayors and ASEC throughout the country and urges them to make good use of them among the most vulnerable populations. Funds will also be allocated to the senators and deputies which will decide themselves of their uses.

In addition, the Government will encourage financially private sector initiatives, concerning of remediation programs and community restaurants.
