Haiti - NOTICE : Power cut Sunday, January 13

The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) inform the population of zones of Road of Frères, Péguy-Ville, Pétion-Ville, Morne Calvaire, Montagne Noire, Malique, Road of Kenscoff, Gros Jean, Canapé-Vert, Bois Verna, Christ-Roi, Bois Patate, Morne Hercule, Belvil, Avenue Panaméricaine, Nérette, Bouc Champagne, Jalousie, to mention only those, will be without electricity Sunday, January 13, 2013, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

This cut is planned as part of the rehabilitation work undertaken from November 2012 to the sub-station Canapé-Vert, which work is progressing rapidly.

During the day of Sunday, the substation will benefit from the commissioning of the first transformer of 25 MVA. This new transformer will improve the quality and quantity of electricity.

At the end of the project scheduled for March 2013, the capacity of this substation will be increased by 60 megawatts, which will further contribute to the improvement of the service.

Note that the rehabilitation work already undertaken in the framework of the Action Plan 2012-2013, led, according to EDH, to an increase in average hours of supply in the metropolitan area of 14 hours to 18 hours per day.
