The Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH), apologizes to the population in general and its customers in particular, regarding the power outage that occurred, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 in the evening, and would like to inform, that this failure is due to the rupture of an underground line, to the substation Toussaint Brave, which darkened many neighborhoods, among others : the downtown and surrounding area, the Charles Summer Avenue, Avenue Christophe and Turgeau.

In addition, a breakdown of lightning arresters to the central of Varreux, resulted in a reduction in power of 25 MW responsible for an interruption in the neighborhoods of Damien, Route 9, Grand Rue, Tabarre and Pernier.

The EDH informs us that the technical teams are hard at work to quickly remedy the situation and restore power within a short time and looked forward to the understanding and patience of the population.
