Haiti - Social : Fritz Cinéas and Mrs. Michaële Craan received the Order Honor and Merit... 05/03/2013 11:51:44
Monday during a ceremony at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly and his wife Sophia Martelly, in the presence of Ministers Pierre Richard Casimir (Foreign Affairs), Stephanie B. Villedrouin (Tourism), Josette Darguste (Culture), Regine Godfrey (Communication), Councillors of President, personalities from the diplomatic world, of the tourism industry, officials of the public administration, parents and friends of the recipients ; proceeded to the delivery of the Decoration of the Order Honor and Merit, Grade of Grand Cross Plaque Argent to Mrs. Michaële Craan, Consultant to the Office of Tourism South East, and Mr. Fritz N. Cinéas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Haiti in the Dominican Republic. The President Martelly congratulated these two great figures of Haitian society. "It is not without reason that Mrs. Craan nicknamed Madame Jacmel. It is because of her determination to sell a positive image of her hometown, to make discover to the world outside the carnival of Jacmel and the various actions she has taken to put this city on the world tourist map." For the Ambassador Fritz Cinéas, the Head of State was equally grateful "Ambassador Cinéas has always reported wherever duty awaited him. He honored his country by his devotion to serve the public good. The years have not diminished the extent of his actions." By doing so, the President Martelly wanted to promote a sense of duty among the Haitian citizens and invited the Haitian society to take these two iconic figures as models.
In his remarks for the occasion, Ambassador Cinéas expressed his pride, saying at it is the greatest mark of honor he received after 50 years of service to the service of the Haitian diplomacy. He also expressed his gratitude to the Head of State and praised his political vision. For her part, Mrs. Craan happy and proud of this distinction, expressed her gratitude to the President and the First Lady, offering them a book of the Haitian writer Michelet Divers, native of Jacmel and a craft piece performed by women of Jacmel. He was in turn Ambassador of Haiti in Italy, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, the United Nations, the Organization of American States, to the White House in Washington, Spain, etc... Learn more about Mrs. Michaële Craan : Having joined the public administration in 1971, former Director of the Regional Bureau of Tourism, Mrs. Michaële Craan is a Consultant to the Directorate of Tourism Office since 2004. Organizer of the Carnival in Jacmel in 1982, since she actively participates to its success. She is one of the instigators of the recognition of this Carnival as a national carnival.
