Haiti - U17 Football : Last phase of qualifying for the World Cup

Tuesday, March 5, Enrique Sanz, Secretary General of CONCACAF (Central American and Caribbean Football) proceeded in Panama City, to the draw of teams, for the final qualifying round of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which will be held from 6 to 19 April in Panama.

Following this draw, our selection U17 will face the USA [favorite] and Guatemala [first participation in a World Cup]. While sitting on the excellent results of the second round of qualifying [Sainte-Lucie (3-0), Curacao (4-1) and Dominican Republic (3-1)] our young Grenadiers should not rest on their victories, and do better than the U20, if they want to get their qualification ticket for the FIFA U-17 World Cup which will take place from 17 October to 8 November 2013 in the UAE.

For Carlo Marcelin, the Secretary General of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), our U17 selection can win one of 4 tickets available, because "In the youth categories, we can compete with our opponents. Our youth are very talented and they have a Brazilian technical staff [Francisco Potiguar, assistant, Rafael Guiduci, physiotherapist, Hébert Soares Bernardino, physical trainer and Giselle Sarmento Buen, responsible nutritional, volunteers of Viva RIO] which can help them go far and why not obtain a second time the qualification for the World Cup in this category." Recall that the Haitian U17 participated only once in the World Cup in 2007, while the United States is the only country to have participated in 14 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

The Secretary General of the FHF, stated that the Federation was in talks with Mexican officials, in order to enable youth Grenadiers to improve their preparation, the final phase of qualification in Panama.
