Wednesday, the President Michel Martelly, received at the National Palace in the presence of Ms. Magalie Racine, the Minister of Youth and Sports, a delegation of women athletes, which will participate in the "Sports Festival of the Women" (Festival Deportivo de Mujer), organized by the Ministry of Sports and the Dominican Olympic Committee, to be held for the first time in the Dominican Republic from 15 to 17 March 2013, at Olympic Center Juan Pablo Duarte (Santo Domingo).

he Head of State, who warmly welcomed the athletes, encouraging them to properly represent their country '[...] Your greatest pride will be to come back with a medal. In this sense, I rely on you. Haiti is relying on you. Go and represent us with dignity. We are proud of you."

The Haitian delegation, with more than 50 women athletes, will leave the country Friday, March 15 to participate in the competitions of : athletics, volleyball, weightlifting and football, before returning home next Monday.
