Haiti - Politic : Laurent Lamothe met the Prime Minister of Aruba

As part of his short stay in Aruba [Lesser Antilles island located off the coast of Venezuela], the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, after having met, Thursday afternoon Pauldrick Teodoric Croes, the President of Parliament [Senate], had a working session with his counterpart Michiel Godfried Eman.

During this meeting, to which took part Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, the two Heads of Government agreed to establish a lasting partnership between the two countries particularly in the areas of construction and tourism. In addition, the Prime Minister Lamothe took the opportunity to highlight the steps taken by the Government to facilitate foreign investment in Haiti and promote tourism development at the level of several sites developed.

The two states have also met with the leaders of the Haitian community, in order to obtain reliable information on the challenges faced by Haitians, to provide elements of solution. In this sense, Laurent Lamothe announced to our compatriots, the opening of a Consulate in Aruba, in order to address some concerns of the Haitian community living on the island.

Following these meetings, the two Heads of Government reiterated their firm determination to strengthen the cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of their respective populations.
