Friday, Magalie Racine, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, in order to support the initiative and the Partnership BRH-Digicel for the renovation of the sport facilities "Land des Gabions", in Les Cayes participated in the laying of the first stone of the rehabilitation works, in the presence among others of : Mr. Damian Blackburn, CEO Digicel Haiti, Dr. Yves Jean Bart, president of the Haitian Football Federation, Mr. Frantz Gregory, President of the Football League of Cayes, Mr. Serge Chéry, Departmental Delegate of the South and Dominique Espérant, Director General of the Municipal Administration of Les Cayes.

This project funded to the tune of U.S. $850,000, includes a plot of 6000 m2, which will have a 100,000 watt lighting, an official stand and bleachers seating 2.800 spectators, two lockers, administrative offices, a cafeteria, restrooms, a press room and a massage room.

In his speech, Damian Blackburn declared "Once again, Digicel reiterates its commitment to contribute to the development of Haitian football. We are proud to launch the work of this field how significant in the history of Haitian football in partnership with the BRH. These arrangements of "Land des Gabions" will not fail to animate with a new energy, all the sports sector Cayen, and the one of football in particular."

For his part, the President of the Haitian Football Federation declared "We thank Digicel for helping us since May 2006 in the Haitian football and we are proud once again to launch the work of another field with the company in order to improve the sports infrastructure of this sport," noting that this initiative confirmed the continued support of Digicel, to the recovery and development of national football.
