Haiti - Football U-17 : Bad start for the Grenadiers against U.S. Boys (3-0)

Sunday in Panama City, as part of first match (Group C), counting for the final phase of qualifying for the FIFA U-17 World Cup (UAE 2013), the Grenadiers were defeated 3-0 against the U.S. Boys at "Estadio Rommel Fernandez".

In the first half our young Grenadiers have conceded the first goal of Boys on a penalty (Christopher Lema 26').

At halftime the USA led 1-0.

Back from cloakroom, our selection U-17, was powerless against a new goal of Christopher Lema (78', his second of the match) followed a few minutes later, by a goal of Ahinga Selemani (86').

Final score without appeal 3-0...

After this bad start, our Grenadiers no longer have the right to fail, if they want to qualify for the quarterfinals. They must absolutely win at the next encounter Tuesday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at "Estadio Rommel Fernandez" against Guatemala.

Despite this crushing defeat, our U-17 was not humiliated by U.S. Boys, making equal playing in the field if you look at the statistics of the match : shots on target, 6 on each side, unframed 11 for Haiti 10 for USA, stops 6 on the Haitian side, 4 on the American side, 6 corner for Haiti 4 for USA and 7 fouls for the Grenadiers against 14 for the U.S. boys...

One thing seems sure our young Grenadiers beyond their will to win, lacked of preparation matches to go to the victory and the serious economic difficulties of the U-17, are certainly not foreign to this lack of preparation...

Let's hope that our selection U17 wins Tuesday against Guatemala and thus preserves a chance to play in the final of the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

In Haiti everything is possible, even the impossible.
