The Haitian businessmen, enjoy of a new motivation this year, to compete for the different prize of the Contest Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year, the creation of an informal network of winners and finalists of the last three years. In this perspective, the finalists prepare to meet the challenges ahead by organizing a great event of networking to renew the former acquaintance and plan for the future, this great meeting will be followed by 12 hours of intense training during two days in "Financial Management for Non-Financial Entrepreneurs" hosted by Dr. Dileep Rao of the Florida International University (FIU) in Miami.

The Entrepreneur of the Year program aims to identify, reward and cultivate business people whose initiative can help give Haiti new economic foundations. It is the search of seven key qualities: competence of the company, leadership, transparency, vision, creativity, environmental awareness and ingenuity.

This year there will be a new category "Construction" and a new prize dedicated to companies and construction companies, manufacturers and retailers of building materials, engineering firms, block manufacturers, producers, importers of steel and paint manufacturers, all sectors involved in this sector. The other categories are: Food and Environment, Education, Tourism and Culture, Industry, Services and Emergent.

The 2013 competition begins with 4 regional finals and a shortlist of 96 regional finalists. Of the 96 finalists will emerge 24 contenders to the prestigious national title (4 in each of the six categories of the competition).

Before the grand finale, candidates will take part to a continuing education program of three days in FIU, to improve their leadership skills and strategic vision tools essential to their success. They will also benefit once again, of the Business Edge training provided by our local training partner, SOFIHDES.

Nominations are now open for the Prices of different categories 2013 with the theme "Together opportunities grow." Alongside Digicel, the Awards 2013 are supported and sponsored by : AIC, Camtel, Cemex, Coles Group et le Groupe Jean Vorbe.
