Haiti - Diplomacy : Important preparatory meeting for the Fifth Summit of the ACS

Haiti is actively preparing to receive in Port-au-Prince from 23 to 26 April 2013, for the first time, the Fifth Summit of the Organization of Caribbean States (ACS), in which will participate representatives of 25 Member States (Heads of States and Governments), 5 associate members of the ACS and nearly 300 delegates (Ministers, Ambassadors and senior officials) around the theme "Revitalizing the vision of the Association of Caribbean States for a stronger and more united Greater Caribbean".

Thursday, as part of the preparation of this important event, a pre-summit meeting was held at the Karibe Convention Center. This one-day meeting, which was attended by over 50 delegates, representing 12 countries, allowed to take stock of the status of preparations for the Summit, particularly in matters of protocol, the press, public relations and security in order to make this event a great success.

At the end of this session, which was followed by a session of questions and answers, the various foreign delegations, under the supervision of Denis Watson, National Coordinator of the Summit, toured the various hotels designed to accommodate delegates, technicians, Ministers, Heads of State and Government participating in the Fifth Summit.

Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Foreign Minister praised the efforts of the various institutions involved in this case and took the opportunity to reiterate the willingness of the Government Martelly-Lamothe to put in place everything that is necessary to ensure the success of this major diplomatic event, which will contribute to consolidating the return of Haiti on the diplomatic map, economic and of ourism in the Caribbean region and the world.
