Friday, on the sidelines of the 5th Summit of the ACS, during a meeting with the President Martelly, the Dominican President Danilo Medina, his first official visit to Haiti since his election, has offered to provide facilities in the Dominican Republic to support the process initiated by Haiti, of providing identity documents to all their citizens, an initiative which already has the support of the Organization of American States (OAS).

The President Medina clarified that once the Government of Haiti has provided its citizens with identity documents, the Dominican Republic will be able to grant temporary work visas and regulate employment contracts, with the services of the Dominican immigration.

In addition, at this meeting, the two leaders agreed that their respective Ministers of Industry and Commerce will meet to facilitate exports to and from the two countries, and also address environmental issues.
