Haiti - Politic : Inauguration of the first Administrative Complex and Sociocultural of North

As part of the modernization and decentralization of public administration, the President Michel Martelly, has proceeded Monday at theinauguration of the first Administrative Complex and Cociocultural (CASC) of North which will bring together all departmental directorates and all decentralized agencies of the State.

This first Administrative Complex, located in Vaudreuil, is a large building, including 120 office spaces, 4 conference rooms, an amphitheater. It also offers stairlifts and inclined plans for people with disabilities or reduced mobility. It comprises among several others under construction in all the capitals of departments of the country, which will be carried by the Haitian Government, through the echnical Implementation Unit (UTE) / Urban Rehabilitation Program (PRU) of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, with funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The Head of State considers the development of the North as the spearhead of growth programs of its tourism potential, of creation of adequate infrastructure for the promotion of historical sites. This administrative complex is also designed to break the puzzle of a population in search of state services in provincial towns. "The environment provided by the CASC in the North, will facilitate a better quality of work of employees of the decentralized state agencies," said the President Martelly, while welcoming the support of the IDB for the initiatives of the Government of Haiti.

Luis Alberto Moreno, IDB President, present at the inauguration, believes essential these efforts of the Haitian Government. "These types of projects and constructions allow the Haitian government to better control its decentralized services," said IDB President, who took the opportunity to salute the courage of Haitians.

Were also present at the inauguration : Zéphyrin Ardouin, Departmental Delegate North, Mr. Jean Renaud Mayor of Cap-Haitien, Mr. Cride Joseph mayor of the town of Plaine du Nord, the deputies of Cap-Haitien, Mr. Kenston Jean-Baptiste, Mr. Frantzy Louis and Mrs Marie Jossie Etienne, Philippe Cinéas, Secretary of State for Public Works, Mr. Axnick Woody Paul, Departmental Director of MPCE, and representatives of ministries and decentralized state agencies.
