Haiti - Agriculture : Workshop-debates on Agricultural Credit

On Thursday, the National Association of Haitian Caisses Populaires (ANACAPH), in partnership with the Office of the National Authorising Officer (BON) and the support of the European Union (EU) held a workshop-debates on agricultural credit.

Organized in the framework of the implementation of the Microfinance Program for Agricultural Production in Haiti (MFPA), funded by the EU to the tune of 2 million euros, this workshop made it possible to launch a debate on agricultural credit in Haiti and to share experiences with other stakeholders such as the Financing System and of Farm Insurance in Haiti (SYFAAH) and the Industrial Development Fund (IDF) for the micro-credit project in the Border Zone (PROCREBI).

The Microfinance Program for Agricultural Production in Haiti aims to reduce rural poverty through a greater promotion of access to credit for farmers, to enable them to increase production and significantly improve their income. It is run by six caisses populaires in six departments of the country and is part of the support of the European Union to agricultural production in Haiti.
