Haiti - Social: The Haitian community of Montreal in solidarity with the families of Lac-Megantic

At the initiative of Deputy of the County of Viau, Emmanuel Dubourg, together with Father Yves-Michel Touzin, a large number of people recently gathered at the Church of Notre-Dame d'Haiti (Montreal North), for a Mass in Creole, especially dedicated to the community of Lac-Megantic severely affected by the tragedy of July 5.

"As Quebecers of Haitian origin, I wanted to give to my community the opportunity to express in their own way their solidarity with the victims of this tragedy. We will never forget the generosity and empathy of all Quebecers to our people during the earthquake [January 2010] [...] Their pain is our pain today. We want to tell them that we are with all our heart with them," declard the Deputy Dubourg.

Recall that the Haitian community was also mobilized to help victims of floods in Montérégie, by organizing, in partnership with the Red Cross, a large radiothon at the community center "La Perle retrouvée" that is located in the county of Viau "Once again today, I remember [Je me souviens - motto of Quebec], unity is strength [motto of Haiti]," concluded the Deputy of Viau.
