Haiti - Heritage : Protection of National Historic Park

Friday, July 12, an important meeting was held at the Ministry of Culture around the search for a consensus concerning the delimitation (drawing) of a part of the National #3 that absolutely must avoid the National Historical Park Citadelle Sans-Souci Ramier, recognized by UNESCO as world heritage.

Attended the meeting, Josette Darguste, acting Minister of Culture, Balmir Villedouin, the Minister of Tourism, Jean-Edner Nelson, the National Authorising Officer, Philippe Cinéas, Secretary of State for Transport, Michèle Oriol, Executive Secretary of the Interdepartmental Committee for Planning, Monique Rocourt, Director General of the Institute for the Protection of National Heritage (ISPAN), Boby Emmanuel Piard, Director General of the National Centre for Geospatial Information and several other personalities concerned by the question of drawing of a part of the National #3.

Recall that the National Historic Park, which covers 2,500 acres in beautiful surroundings, is an architectural and heritage set, symbol of independence and freedom of the Haitian people, conquered in 1804, that must be transmitted to future generations. It is also the prestige of Haiti, the prestige of the Northern Department, including the town of Milot, Dondon, Grande Rivière du Nord and of the Plaine du Nord who share the park area.
