At 48 hours of Carnival, everything seems ready, everyone works to adjust the final details to make this second edition of the Carnival of Flowers a success.

More than 50% of the workforce of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) [nearly 5,000 police officers], will be mobilized on 28, July 29 and 30 to ensure security in the metropolitan area for the 2nd edition of the Carnival of Flowers, informed Gary Desrosiers, the deputy spokesman of the PNH "We will mobilize SWAT and CIMO through patrols, he said. But other police units be also there to ensure the safety of the population. We ask the cooperation of all the people for the success of this event."

A press briefing is scheduled this Friday with the Carnival Committee and the various units of the PNH to inform the public of the various actions that will taken for this Carnival envent.

Moreover, Yanick Mézile, Minister for Women and women's rights, demand DJs not to expose the body of women and to the musical groups to avoid attack the dignity of women. To women, she asks to have exemplary behavior during the carnival parade, not to abuse alcoholic beverages or dressing unworthily. The Minister encouraged the organizers to allow female artists to showcase their talent and skills.

Parade route : Stade Sylvio Cator – Grand-rue – Rue Paul VI – Champ-de-Mars – Stade Sylvio Cator.

Budget of the Carnival of Flowers 2013 : 97 million gourdes.

Carnival Time : from 5:00 pm until 2:00 am

13 Musical groups are confirmed : T-vice, Djakout, Ambyans, Septentrional, T-Micky, Team Lobey, Kreyol La, Barikad Crew, Rockfam, Carimi, Bookman eksperyans, Ti landeng and Ti pay are the musical groups selected to ensure the animation on the course.

Last minute, the actor singer Cuban-American JenCarlos Canela, known in Haiti as the "DIABLO", will participate in the 2013 edition of the Carnival of Flowers. DIABLO, is expected to arrive in Port-au-Prince on Friday, July 26 to 12:30 p.m. and will be welcomed by Josette Darguste, acting Minister and Grégory Saba, the President of the Committee of Carnival of Flowers.
