Haiti - Carnival of Flowers : D-1

At a little over 24 hours of the opening of the 2nd Edition of the Carnival of Flowers 2013 [28, 29 and 30 July], the capital decorated with 120 booths, including a giant booth that can accommodate, 10,000 people, seems impatient to start the Carnival festivities, while each is working fervently to put the finishing touches, so that this Carnival is an even bigger success than the previous year.

With an budget estimated at 97 million gourdes whose 80% comes from the private sector and 20 million from the Haitian state, this second edition promises to be highly colorful and musical for hundreds of thousands of revelers.

In the workshops of the Association "Bon Demen Haiti" [a better future for Haiti], who was born 9 years ago, twenty people play the race against the clock to deliver to their many customers, the latest ornaments, hats, jewelry, dresses and other accessories and ornaments to decorate the stands. Particularity of this workshop, everything is made from recycled materials for a magical result that will surprise and amaze many, demonstrating the creativity that seems limitless of our craftsmen.

For the first two days, the parade will begin at 5:00 pm to finish around 2:00 in the morning. Parade route : Stade Sylvio Cator – Grand-rue – Rue Paul VI – Champ-de-Mars – Stade Sylvio Cator. For the third and last day the atmosphere will begin at the same time but will continue until early morning.

13 bands, all trends have been selected to animate this second edition of the Carnival of Flowers 2013 : T-vice, Djakout, Ambyans, Septentrional, T-Micky, Team Lobey, Kreyol La, Barikad Crew, Rockfam, Carimi, Bookman eksperyans, Ti landeng and Ti pay are the musical groups selected to ensure the animation on the course.
