Haiti - Politic : Chancellor Pierre-Richard Casimir in Official Visit to New York

At the invitation of his Argentine counterpart Hector Timerman, Pierre-Richard Casimir, the Minister of Foreign Affairs has left Haiti Monday to New York to attend a special session of the Council of the United Nations Security on "cooperation between the United Nations and regional and subregional organizations in maintaining international peace and security."

On this occasion, the Haitian Chancellor will deliver a speech in which he will emphasize the importance of collaboration between the United Nations and regional organizations in order to ensure the success of measures for the maintenance of peace and security.

Minister Casimir will also take the opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the Government Martelly/Lamothe to make every effort to contribute to the achievement of UN objectives in regard to peace and international security, while giving assurances that the Republic of Haiti will continue to work together with all those who believe that the role and involvement of regional organizations in this matter are now more than ever a necessity.
