Haiti - Social : Celebration of the 350th anniversary of Petit-Goâve

According to the organizing committee, the celebrations of the 350th anniversary of Petit-Goâve, [founded in 1663], located in the district of Léogâne, will take place in two stages.

From August 12 to 18, a series of activities, crafts, festive and sports will be held under the theme "Unite for a new beginning", which will coincide with August 15, the Parish Feast of Our Lady and in a second time, the official ceremony commemorating the 350th anniversary of the city of King Faustin Soulouque will take place during the weekend of October 18.

Calendar of festivities :

Monday, August 12 :

Day dedicated to farmers honoring the communal section of Vallue ;

Tuesday August 13 to 15 :

Large craft fair that will bring together the inhabitants of Petit-Goâve, of other provincial cities, from Port-au-Prince and the Diaspora ;

Friday, August 16 :

Big evening of the diaspora, which aims to promote the potential of the tourism sector in Petit-Goâve.

Sunday, August 18 :

Many musical groups including Tabou Combo will close this week of festivities.

Petit-Goâve hope with these festivities, regain the number of tourists it had before the 2010 earthquake.
