Haiti - Politic : Evaluation Mission of the OAS on the feasibility of elections

Mardi, le Président Michel Martelly, s’est entretenu au Palais National, avec Albert Ramdin, le Secrétaire Général Adjoint de l’Organisation des États Américains (OEA). Au cours de cette rencontre, plusieurs points ont été abordés dont l’avancement du processus électoral.

Albert Ramdin stated that the OAS followed closely what is happening in Haiti and said that the hemispheric organization was aware of the position taken by all stakeholders. He also favorably welcomed a request by the President Martelly, inviting the OAS to send soon a technical mission to Haiti to assess the feasibility of elections.

In addition, the Deputy Secretary General said see a certain stability in the country since the coming to power of President Martelly and is committed to facilitate the holding in Haiti during the next year, of a large meeting of international entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, in order to come and explore avenues for investment in Haiti.

In addition, he proposed that the Summit of the Member States of the OAS in 2015, is being held in Haiti. Proposal to which has acceded the President Martelly, always anxious to promote a new image of Haiti abroad.
