Friday in New York on the sidelines of the 68th Ordinary Session of the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe discussed with his Vietnamese counterpart Nguyen Tan Dung, about measures to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The two leaders expressed their satisfaction on the positive and rapid development of bilateral relations, especially in politics, diplomacy, economics, trade and investment.

Nguyen Tan Dung announced that Vietnam was about to complete the procedures for the implementation of the Framework Agreement on cooperation in trade and investment under which the two countries will create a Joint Committee on commercial and investment cooperation in order to effectively coordinate economic activities. He also asked his counterpart to continue to promote and protect the interests of the investment project of Viettel totaling 100 million dollars, as well as other Vietnamese companies operating in Haiti.

For his part, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe has expressed its willingness to promote cooperation with Vietnam especially in trade and investment, while affirming to his interlocutor of the establishment of the best possible conditions for Vietnamese enterprises coming invest in Haiti.

The two sides agreed to strengthen their cooperation in other areas such as cultivation of rice among other, conservation technologies of post-harvest products and aquaculture...

Nguyen Tan Dung also affirmed that his country was ready to share its experiences with Haiti in the fight against poverty, the development of education and health and to participate in projects of the recovery of Haiti.
