Haiti - NOTICE : Open Door at the UCLBP

On the occasion of the celebration of World Habitat Day, celebrated this year under the theme of "urban mobility" the Unit of Housing Construction and of Public Buildings (UCLBP) organizes Monday, October 7, 2013 an open door day from 10:00 am in its offices located at # 32 rue Faubert of Petion-Ville.

This day aims to present to the public, the actions performed by several stakeholders in the housing sector and the habitat through a series of activities : exhibitions of technical papers, boards and achievements of interventions, lectures and screening of documentaries. The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC), the Public Enterprise of Promotion of Social Housing (EPPLS), the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), the Office of Monetization Program Development Assistance (BMPAD) and municipalities of the metropolitan area will exhibit alongside the UCLBP.

The UCLBP invite the interested public to make the displacement to better understand the actions of several players in the housing sector and of the habitat.

Moreover, the collective of organizations defending the right to housing in Haiti (GARR, POHDH, PAPDA, DOP, SJR-Ayiti, FRAKKA) plans for this day of celebration, a series of activities around the theme "Batay pou bon jan lojman, se batay pou lavi", to protest against the forced evictions in IDP camps: awareness and advocacy around the right to housing, peaceful march and panel discussions.
