José del Castillo Saviñón, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Dominican Republic, declared, on the sidelines of a seminar of presentation of results of a project of industrial clusters in the Dominican Republic, that a Commission composed of businessmen and Dominican officials would soon travel to Haiti to finally resolve trade disputes between the two country, adding that currently bilateral trade worked "relatively normal."

He also expressed his confidence in the conclusion of a final agreement "We believe that the Dominican Republic and Haiti will reach to a final agreement to end trade disputes."

For her part, Ligia Bonetti, President of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic, revealed that in previous meetings with entrepreneurs and the Haitian authorities, there had been some progress in term of cooperation, in particular to allow a greater flow of investment and payment of taxes and duties to Haiti.
