Haiti - Technology : Modernization of work of academic inspectors

Now, inspectors will move from paper to advanced technology. Works that could take up to a week, will now be made in less than 30 minutes because, indeed, the Ministry of National Education has recently proceeded, during a training session, to the distribution of 80 tablets, which will become the main tool for inspectors.

According to the animators of the training, the tablet will be the essential tool for data entry on schools. With geolocation connected to the internet, the tablet will allow to verify [among others], in real time, if the school indicated by the inspector has been effectively supervised.

According to Vanneur Pierre, Minister of Education, this initiative that should touch the 10 departments of the country, is part of efforts to improve and modernize the Haitian education system, under the sign of the shift towards quality "There are no other ways to lead the country on the voice of modernity that education. Today, the quality we seek in the system also requires the inspectors."

For Jean Wilnor Pierre, Head of Division of support for private education and of partnership (DAEPP), this technological tool will allow inspectors to save time in finding information to guide policy makers in their decisions "It is not possible in the 21st century to ensure the governance of the system, in an archaic logic."

Several inspectors who took part in this training session, applauded this unprecedented initiative in the Haitian education system, which is still facing enormous challenges despite the significant jump in attendance.
