Haiti - Security : Improvement of the situation in 2013

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), presented in a report, a review of the security situation in Haiti, at the humanitarian forum, which was held on November 22. According to information contained in this report among other things, the number of homicides in 2013 [dated November] totaled 682 against 1,032 in 2012 representing a decrease of 34%. Regarding cases of kidnappings, 70 cases were reported in 2013 against 157 in 2012, a decrease of 55%. The report states that most of these acts were committed in Port-au-Prince. HL/ HaitiLibre
