Haiti - Politic : France intends to remain a key partner for Haiti

Four years after January 12, 2010, France still stands alongside the Haitian people, united by a common history, geography and a common language to support reconstruction efforts.

The implementation of reconstruction projects continues today. The action has enabled France to initiate the rehabilitationof the State University Hospital of Haiti and two neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince.

Special efforts have been made in the area of education and higher education :

  • 700 young Haitian people were able to continue their studies in France ;

  • A dozen academic institutions offering distance learning courses were established ;

  • A bilateral road map for the modernization of the state and the education sector in Haiti was adopted in October 2012 for the period 2013-2015. Guadeloupe, French Guyana and Martinique are especially mobilized.

France intends to remain a key partner of Haiti, with relationships that develop in all areas. After the earthquake of 12 January 2010, 326 million euros of aid have been mobilized by France to assist Haiti.
