Royal Caribbean : Suspension of cruises to Haiti extended until 2028

As the political situation and violence from terrorist gangs in Haiti continue unabated, Royal Caribbean International has decided to extend the suspension of its cruises to Labadee, Haiti, until at least April 2028.

This marks the third time the cruise line has extended its moratorium on sailings to Labadee. The company—along with other major cruise lines—ceased calling at Labadee in mid-2025, when instability and violence in the country reached a breaking point. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-45448-haiti-tourism-royal-caribbean-extends-the-suspension-of-its-stops-in-labadee.html

Royal Caribbean has begun notifying guests with bookings for cruises that include a stop in Labadee, Haiti, about changes to their itineraries. Dozens of sailings across nine different cruise ships will be affected, including those aboard the Adventure of the Seas and the Symphony of the Seas.

For affected guests, all pre-booked shore excursions, both in Labadee and in other ports that have been changed to accommodate the new itineraries, will be automatically refunded.

Sam Vigersky, a public policy expert at the Council on Foreign Relations, told Reuters : "The overall security situation [in Haiti] is not trending toward stabilization, but rather toward escalation."
