Haiti - Tourism : «Petit-Goâve is the hidden jewel of tourism in Haiti» dixit Kesner Pharel

Saturday, during a visit to Petit-Goâve, economist Kesner Pharel (roro) declared "Petit-Goâve is the jewel cache tourism in Haiti [...] The biggest advantage of this commune of the region of Palmes, is and remains the tourism," stating that "Petit-Goâve has more tourism opportunities than the city of Jacmel."

However, the economist explained that "Unfortunately, the Haitian State and the country in general are unaware of all the wonders of this city, we know very badly Petit-Goâve. We should also put the focus on this commune at tourism sector.

It is up to Petit-Goâviens to sell Petit-Goâve otherwise, to project a different image of the city and to promote it by all means.

The Town Hall must practice good governance that is to say a proper management of public affairs. It must establish all the necessary structures, including management structure and human resources. It must know the opportunities and weaknesses of ther commune to prepare the municipal budget, a socio-economic recovery project, identify priorities in concert with members of the population.

We need to create an economic council of Petit-Goâve, whose mission is to develop a development plan for this commune in the short and long term and to discuss priorities.

All citizens should be involved in the management of this city, we need a strong Town Hall with a dynamic team responsible, progressive, visionary, able to facilitate the development of Petit-Goâve in all areas of education, health, environment , management, infrastructure..."

Stressing the importance of the role of Town Hall in a community, Kesner Pharel recalled "we can not choose anyone to be Mayor. The municipal elections are a key issue."
